The "Gas Chromatograph" exhibit is a free standing hands-on experiment developed to explain a widely used analytical tool in chemical research. Very unusual for a hands-on exhibit, the visitor is involved with his sense of smell.

The dimensions of the central element which contains the Gas Chromatograph (GC) apparatus (0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 m; a "black box" with a display and some tubes coming from the gas-bottles), two large gas-bottles made of steel (1.8 m height; a green one which contains Nitrogen (N2) and a grey one which contains compressed air) and the computer (hidden under the GC) has wooden back and side walls and a pane of glass in the front.
Two wooden 'wings' (1 x 1 x 1 m) hold three 'smelling microphones'(left) and the touch screen (right).
